Must Visit Beaches in Albany Western Australia

3 Must Visit Beaches In Albany W.A.

Located on the southern tip of Western Australia, Albany is home to some incredible natural wonders and has many more within a day’s drive. It will take you roughly 4.5 hours to drive here from Perth or just over an hour to fly down from Perth.

If you have heard anything about Albany it has probably been about the crystal clear waters and white sand beaches that can be found all along the south-west edge of this beautiful state. I have been lucky to live in the great southern region my whole life and cannot wait to share this beautiful place with you. So let’s jump right in.

LITTLE BEACH – Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve

Little Beach is located within the Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve roughly 40 mins east of Albany town site. The road into the beach is an unsealed gravel road that is suitable for a 2wd.

You have likely seen this beach all over your Instagram feed and for good reason it is truly stunning and a definite hotspot for people visiting the area. The crisp blue water and the two massive granite boulders make for a very Instagrammable location and it has been voted Western Australia’s best beach numerous times.

Also if you walk to the other end and up a path through the trees you will end up at Waterfall Beach, an equally as stunning little cove that people sometimes miss.

Also located within the Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve is Two Peoples Bay, this beach is not as nice as its neighbour but has some lovely shaded grass areas which are great locations for a picnic etc.

MISERY BEACH – Torndirrup National Park

Another Albany Beach that has been voted one of the best in Australia is Misery Beach. Unlike the name suggests it is anything but miserable. It is a secluded little cove that looks back towards the Albany townsite and is located right near the starting point for the Bald Head Hike which is a stunning hike with some of the most breathtaking views.

GULL ROCK – The Local Favourite

This beach is not as well known as the other two which makes it less touristy and more of a local hotspot. You will find crystal clear waters and white sand in a protected little cove, you can also often see the remains of the Awhina Shipwreck sticking up above the Water.

This is a handy website to figure out what beach will be most protected when you want to explore.
